| Abstract: | NORSK SAMMENDRAG: Artikkelen søker å avklare hvilket år spelemannen Myllarguten ble født. De to alternativene 1799 og 1801 blir drøftet opp mot hverandre. På grunnlag av lovverk, praktiserende skikk og tradisjon sammen med en kildekritisk gjennomgang av opplysninger i kirkebøker og folketellinger er konklusjonen at det er overveiende mest sannsynlig at Myllarguten ble født i 1801.
ENGLISH ABSTRACT: The article deals with the question of what year the fiddler Myllarguten was born. The two alternatives 1799 and 1801 are discussed. On the basis of laws, customs and traditions together with a critical discussion of the given data in parish registers and census I conclude that Myllarguten most probable was born in 1801. |
